John Alan Thompson credits his acute sense of color and light to being flung from the back of a speeding pickup truck at the tender age of thirteen. When he regained consciousness, he knew he wanted to be a filmmaker.

John has directed comedy sketches for the truTV series RACHEL DRATCH’S LATE NIGHT SNACK, the viral social justice short documentary ONE FAMILY for the BRUCE LEE FOUNDATION as well as the anti-vaping ad for TRUTH.

John has directed numerous music videos for bands you’ve never heard of and ads for companies you have heard of, like Google and Red Bull.  His style is imaginative with artful design and heartfelt performances.
